This means that a particular drug or in this case "steroid" has only
one chemical name, and is recognized throughout the world
by that one particular name.
For
example, the steroid which is recognized universally by the one chemical name
"Testosterone Undecanoate" has several different trade names in various
countries such as: Andriol, Androxon, Panteston, Restandol, Undestor, and Virigen.
Sometimes, an anabolic steroid's trade and chemical name are the same.
For example, in the United States, Testosterone Propionate is both the chemical name and trade name. However, in another country Testosterone Propionate may have a different trade name.

Physicians in the United States are violating the law if they write a prescription for anabolic steroids that are intended to be used for athletic enhancement purposes. They can however, write a prescription for these same substances for 'medicinal purposes' such as a decreased libido, or other testosterone age related abnormalities. It is also "illegal" for anyone in the United States to buy, possess, use, sell, trade, smuggle, export, and import anabolic steroids.
However, in Mexico a physician currently is not restricted by these laws, therefore, anabolic steroids can be purchased with and sometimes even without a prescription directly from a farmacia. We then refer to the possibility of obtaining steroids as "legal", as an individual is not violating the law by having these items within their possession whether it's for athletic enrichment, or medicinal purposes.
Although anabolic steroids may be legally obtained in one country, they may not be forwarded into a country where they are "illegal". This is particularly important to realize especially when ordering from Mailing Lists. The company as well as the items may be legit, however, it is a violation of the law to bring these steroids into a country where they are banned and against the law. Doing so will result in criminal conviction if caught.
